The Napa Wine Train may be one of the finest ways to wine, dine and view the scenery in the Napa Valley.

It is a relaxing three-hour, thirty-six mile round-trip journey from the historic town of Napa through one of the world’s most well- known wine regions. It travels to the charming town of St. Helena, and then back to Napa. Guests aboard the Wine Train enjoy a freshly prepared lunch or dinner inside a 1915-1917 Pullman Dining Car or a 1952 Vista Dome car as they pass the vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley. The Pullman cars are fully restored in the burgundies, champagne and vineyard-green colors of the era and of Napa.

The age of steam trains that first brought visitors from San Francisco to the valley’s Victorian spas and early wineries is a distant memory, but the Napa Valley Wine Train is a reminder of those gentler times. The Wine Train has been kept alive by doing what the Valley does best—serving up good food, terrific wine and gorgeous scenery.

You can decide if you want to eat in the dome dining car with its 360 degree view of the valley, or stop at a winery and go to the caves in the evening. The chef’s cars are between the train cars, and the food is impeccable. (Sometimes there is entertainment.) The food is set off by their perfect presentation: fine linens, first-class wine, and the requisite shining brass and gleaming mahogany of the dining cars. How many courses do you want? The choices are up to you.

We can also make special arrangements for you to ride up front with the engineers. The Napa Wine Train is a must for a trip through Authentic Wine Country!
